After Corona, CAA will be effective in West Bengal: Amit Shah

India’s Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah has said that the revised citizenship law, or CAA, will come into force in West Bengal once the corona is over. He was speaking at a public meeting organized by the BJP in Siliguri, West Bengal on Thursday afternoon.

Amit Shah is on a two-day visit to West Bengal from Thursday to attend several Indian Border Security Force (BSF) programs. However, in addition to the official visit, he is also taking part in party meetings and organizational activities.

Speaking at a meeting in Siliguri, Amit Shah said the CAA would be effective in West Bengal after Corona’s departure. Then all the citizens from Bangladesh will get the opportunity of Indian citizenship. Addressing the Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee, Amit Shah said, “Didi, you also cannot stop the CAA. You are lying about CAA. Misunderstood people. This time it is time to implement CAA.

Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has sharply criticized Amit Shah’s demand. He said the BJP was lying about the CAA. All of these Bengalis are citizens of India. What is CAA again? People are voting as citizens of this country. Mamata also said that Amit Shah was talking about CAA. The people of this state will not obey the CAA.
The Left CPM has also strongly condemned Amit Shah’s remarks. CPM leader Sujan Chakraborty said, “Amit Shah is showing Khuro’s call.”
On the other hand, from the meeting in Siliguri, the BJP leaders demanded that the deprived area of West Bengal be North Bengal. So let it be given the status of a separate state. They say that if Jammu and Kashmir can be divided into Ladakh, then why not West Bengal and become a separate state of North Bengal?
