A 17-year-old girl filed a case against Lamichhan on Tuesday at the Guashala police circle office, citing Nepal Police spokesperson Tek Prasad Roy. The girl’s guardian was also present at that time.

According to the complaint filed with the police, the victim said that he was in contact with Lamichhan on WhatsApp and Snapchat as a fan. After the two became friends, Lamichane asked the girl to meet him. According to the complaint, Lamichhane took the girl to Nagarkot in a private car on the day of the meeting on August 21.
After staying there for some time, the girl asked Lamichane to take her back to her hostel in Kathmandu. But the 22-year-old Nepalese captain kept wasting time. Then by the time they returned to Kathmandu from Nagarkot at night, the girl’s hostel was closed. Lamichane then rented a room in a hotel for the girl to stay.
The victim alleged that after returning to Kathmandu, she was raped by Lamichane at the hotel. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CN) called an emergency meeting on Wednesday evening after a case of rape was filed against the captain of the national team.
Lamichane, who played 30 ODIs and 44 T20Is for Nepal, is not in the country at the moment. He is in Trinidad and Tobago playing in the Caribbean Premier League. He left Nepal on August 22 to play ODIs, T20Is and CPL against Kenya. According to the victim, the rape incident took place in Lamichhan just before leaving the country.
