Elon Musk will initially be the company’s chief executive officer (CEO) once the formalities of ownership of Twitter are completed. A person close to the matter has given this information.
In addition to being the CEO of Tesla Inc., the world’s richest man, Musk heads two ventures, The Boring Company and SpaceX.
At a recent meeting, the company’s board of directors made the final decision to sell Twitter to Elon Musk. The board decided to sell the company for হাজার 4.4 billion. Earlier, Musk offered 4.3 billion to acquire full ownership of Twitter. Soon after, questions arose about the future of Twitter’s Indian CEO Parag Agarwal. Meanwhile, Tesla’s share price fell 6 percent last Thursday. Tesla investors fear that Mask’s involvement with Twitter will adversely affect the operating capacity of the world’s most expensive carmaker. Parag Agarwal was appointed CEO of Twitter last November. He is thought to have survived an earlier attempt to oust him following Mr Salek’s acquisition of Twitter. It has been reported in various media that Musk is planning to become the CEO of Twitter on an interim basis.
Elon Musk submitted a list of investors to the Twitter Purchase Fund at the US Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday. They will invest ৪ 1.14 billion. The list includes Oracle founder Larry Allison, crypto platform finance and investment firm Sequoia Capital.
Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, a Twitter partner, commented last month that the proposed price of the mask was not enough to sell his shares. The Saudi prince is now saying that Musk will be a ‘great leader’ for Twitter. He also agreed to sell tweet 179 million worth of Twitter shares he owned.
Musk announced plans to impose tariffs on Twitter’s commercial users shortly after the deal was struck last month. Elon Musk has also announced that new features will be added to Twitter to make users more interested in using this social media. However, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has questioned Elon Musk’s motives. His fear is that Mask will turn Twitter into a ‘bad’ platform.
