In the hectic times of club football, it is sometimes difficult to determine the title when the points of the top two teams are equal.

Then the league authorities took different approaches in determining the title.

Someone sees who is ahead of Dudal in the ‘head to head’ fight,

in which league the goal difference seen.

But this time the Italian top league has found an easy way.

If the points of the top two teams are equal in the final fight, the title will decided in the play-off, not ‘head to head’.

• The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) said in a statement on Tuesday
• (June 26th) that the new rules would take effect from the 2022-23 season.
• Last season, the Serie A title  decided in the last match.
• City Milan beat Inter Milan by 2 points to win the title.
• If AC Milan did not win the last match, the points of both teams were likely to be equal.

In that case, the league organizing authority had to face problems in determining the champion.

If the points of the top two teams in Serie A are equal,

the title of ‘Head to Head’ will  determined.In that case,

AC Milan would be the champion.

However, in the coming season,

 

After the last match of the league season in Serie A,

if the points of the top two teams are equal,

they will have to face in the play-off match to determine the title.

The FIGC said in a statement that it had met with Italian top league clubs to

discuss the play-offs and that

it had  approved at a meeting of the FIGC and the Federal Council.

In this play-off match, even if there  a tie between the two teams at the end of the scheduled time,

the game will not played in extra time.

At the end of the allotted time, however, the tiebreaker will decide the title.

No other league in Europe has won a play-off title in this way.

In La Liga or the Premier League,

if the two teams have equal points, the team that  usually ahead in goal difference  declared the champion.

However, the title has sometimes decided on the basis of staying ahead in face-to-face fights.

However, Serie A has an example of a play-off title. Bologna won the championship in 1974 by defeating Inter 2-0.🔱
